The “Aerodynamics Design and Optimization” parallel forum of the 2nd International Conference on Green Aviation (ICGA2024) was held in Chengdu, Sichuan, on November 6-7, 2024.
This paralle forum was jointly hosted by the School of Aeronautic Science and Engineering at Beihang University and School of Aerospace Engineering at Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics. The forum attracted numerous academic and industry experts from both domestic and international institutions, covering frontier topics in experimental innovation, computational simulation, and industrial development.
The forum was moderated by Professor Leiting DONG rom Beihang University, Professor Xiaolu WANG from Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics and Associate Professor Bingjun ZHU from Beihang University.
A total of 10 distinguished keynote speakers from academia and industry presented their insights, including João Luiz F. Azevedo, Past President of International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS) and Senior Research Engineer at the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica; Zhuoyi DUAN, Chief Designer Consultant, Professor, The First Aircraft Institute of AVIC; John A. Ekaterinaris, Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Editor-in-Chief of Aerospace Science & Technology; Xiaolu WANG, Dean of the School of Aerospace Engineering at Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics; Zhansen QIAN, Director of the Technology Department at the China Academy of Aerospace Aerodynamics; Shuguang LI, Professor of Aerospace Composites at the University of Nottingham; Shoufeng YANG, Professor at the Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Mir Feroskhan, Assistant Professor at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University; Haiyang FAN, Professor at Harbin Engineering University; and Hongwei WU, Professor and Head of the Energy and Sustainable Manufacturing Research Group at the University of Hertfordshire.
Through in-depth exchanges and discussions, attendees gained a deeper understanding of the latest research and development trends in aerodynamics design and optimization. The forum also strengthened friendships and collaborations among participants, laying the foundation for continued efforts to advance and optimize green aviation technologies.
