The “Green MRO” Parallel Forum of ICGA2024 was Successfully Held

The “Green MRO” parallel forum of the 2nd International Conference on Green Aviation (ICGA2024) was held in Chengdu, Sichuan, on November 6-7, 2024.

 

This forum is hosted by Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC). The opening ceremony featured speeches from Associate Secretary General of CSAA, Ce YU, Head of Airworthiness Maintenance of CAAC Southwest Reginal Administration, Xi Yadong, and President of CAFUC, Lixin GUAN. The event was moderated by Vice President of CAFUC, Qingru TANG. More than 100 participants attended, including government representatives, domestic and international experts, scholars, industry associations, research institutes, aviation manufacturing, operations, and service enterprises, as well as media representatives.

 

The Green MRO Forum focused on topics such as environmentally friendly maintenance materials, green maintenance technologies, maintenance regulation and policies, and the high-quality development of the civil aviation maintenance industry. The forum featured keynote speeches from notable experts including Yaoming FU, Dean of the School of Aeronautical Engineering at CAFUC, Rodolphe Bardou, Director of Engineering of Honeywell R&D Center in China, Maogen SU, Senior Researcher and Engineer at COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Customer Services, Maojiang RAN, Deputy General Manager of Chengdu Airlines, Changlong HUANG, Professor at Guangzhou Civil Aviation College, Pengcheng LU, Associate Professor at Civil Aviation University of China, Leiting DONG, Professor at Beihang University, Chunhui WEN, Manager of Maintenance Engineering Department from Zhejiang Loong Airlines, and Yi HAN, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Chang’an University, and New Energy and Intelligent Automobile Industry Expert at Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

 

The forum also invited authors of outstanding papers on green maintenance to present their research. Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions on the key issues and challenges of green maintenance, exchanging views on strategies to advance the green aviation development agenda. In conclusion, Vice Dean of the College of Aeronautical Engineering at CAFUC, Changchun ZHOU, delivered the summary report for the forum and presented a set of recommendations based on the forum's findings, offering valuable insights for the further development of green maintenance in aviation.
