On June 20, 2023, the International Forum on Green Aviation, co-hosted by CSAA and the French Aerospace Industries Association (GIFAS), and supported by the CSAA Europe Office and Shanghai Society of Aeronautics, was successfully held by Galleon (Shanghai) Consulting Co., Ltd during the Paris Air Show. This forum attracted over 100 representatives from more than 70 global institutions. Mr. CHEN Guosheng, the Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in France, attended the forum as a delegate of Minister CHEN Li. This was the first time CSAA hosted a forum abroad.

The forum was presided over by Professor JI Ning, the chief representative of the CSAA Europe Office and professor at Paris-Saclay University. Vice President YAO Junchen delivered the opening speech on behalf of CSAA. He thanked GIFAS for their strong support in hosting the forum and announced the initiative to establish the "International Association for Green Aviation" with the joint efforts of 50 to 60 experts from around the world. The association will uphold clean, safe, smart, and innovative development principles and commit to promoting the sustainable development of the global aviation industry through technological advancement and global cooperation. This initiative was immediately responded by COMAC, the Chinese Aeronautical Establishment, GIFAS, ASD, the Safran Group, Airbus, ESTACA, and ENSTA Paris.
Philippe BARDOL, the Chairman of the GIFAS China Committee, delivered the opening speech on behalf of the French side. He noted that "green aviation" is an imperative new direction for aviation development. All global stakeholders must take action to achieve the common goal of "carbon neutrality." Therefore, we need to enhance our understanding of the "International Association for Green Aviation" initiative, promote the safe, reliable, economical, sustainable, and resilient development of future aviation through technological advancement and international cooperation, and jointly promote the goal of "carbon reduction."
The forum invited five keynote speakers who shared the plans, visions, issues, and challenges of sustainable aviation development from different perspectives.

Mr. GODDARD Kevin, President of the Environment Committee of ASD, and Senior Manager of Environmental Affairs at Airbus Europe, delivered a presentation titled "Global Plan and Initiatives for Sustainable Aviation Development.” He introduced the main topics set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to achieve carbon emissions reduction, including the development of sustainable aviation fuels, the implementation of the Global Aviation Long-Term Goals (LTAG), and the establishment of CO2 and noise emissions standards.

Mr. LU Xinlai presented "Climate Neutrality - A Global Challenge." He introduced China's "dual carbon" commitment and the plan formulated by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).
