Track 1: Novel Propulsion and Power Concepts 新型推进和动力概念

Green aviation-power brings a groundbreaking advancement in the transition of aviation industry towards sustainable and environmental-friendly air-transportation. Hydrogen or electrical propulsion leverages new energy as a fuel source, offering a number of compelling advantages that could revolutionize air travel. By emitting no greenhouse gases or pollutants, hydrogen aviation aligns with the goals of achieving net-zero emissions in the transportation sector, which enables the aviation industry significantly reduce its environmental impact while maintaining and enhancing performance and efficiency. However, challenges still remain to meet the requirements of high energy density, long-duration flight capability, versatility in aircraft types, etc. As technology advances and infrastructure expands, hydrogen-powered aviation is poised to become a cornerstone of the sustainable transportation landscape.

This track, hosted by Beihang University, chaired by Prof Xiaojun YAN, will deliver 12 excellent invited talks covers a wide range of green aviation-power. We are inviting researches working on all aspects of hydrogen or electrical propulsion to participate this event.

Track 2: Sustainable Aviation Fuels(SAF)可持续航空燃料

Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) means aviation fuel that is made of renewable resources or wastes,and has passed safety certification and sustainability certification, with full life cycle emission reduction up to 80% or more, and has become a realistic energy path for deep decarbonization of the aviation industry by the middle of the century. SAF has been widely valued by governments as well as the aviation industry. However, its large-scale promotion and implementation still faces constraints in terms of safety, sustainability and economy. Therefore, the sub-forum jointly organized by Civil Aviation University of China and Cathay Pacific will focus on the domains of SAF policy, feedstock, process, safety certification, sustainability certification, price & market, and supply chain, inviting experts and scholars from domestic and foreign enterprises, R&D institutions, universities and government agencies to introduce the latest progress in their respective fields, and to promote information communication and exchange. This track will promote the communication and exchange of information, accelerate the system integration of the whole SAF industry chain, and accelerate the R&D, validation and application of SAF.

Track 3: Integrated Design of Materials and Structure结构材料一体化设计

"Integrated Design of Materials and Structure", jointly organized by Northwestern Polytechnical University and Hexagon, aims to explore cutting-edge technologies and applications in the integrated design of materials and structures. This forum will bring together experts, scholars, and industry leaders from academia, industry, and research institutions to share research findings, exchange experiences, and promote interdisciplinary collaboration between materials science and structural engineering. In contemporary engineering practice, the interplay between material selection and structural design is critical. Effective integrated design can significantly enhance the safety, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability of engineering projects. The forum will feature keynote speeches, academic exchanges, and technical demonstrations, focusing on the mutual influence of material properties and structural behaviors, thereby fostering the development and application of innovative materials. Tthe forum will invite industry leaders and renowned experts from well-known domestic and international universities to share their insights, fostering innovation and progress in the field of materials and structural design. Through this platform, we aim to stimulate broader collaboration and dialogue, contributing valuable knowledge and insights to the future development of engineering technologies.

Track 4: Aerodynamics Design and Optimization气动设计与优化

Aerodynamics Design and Optimization is co-hosted by the School of Aeronautic Science and Engineering, Beihang University and the School of Aerospace Engineering, Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics. This sub-forum covers a wide range of multidisciplinary subjects related with state-of-the-art experimental innovation, computational simulation and industrial developments, including aircraft design with AI technology, novel configuration, morphing aircraft and multidisciplinary design and optimization. Moreover, this forum has invited 10 keynote speakers from both academics and industry, including ICAS leader, chief editor of top aerospace journal, leading scientists and engineers from top universities and enterprises. Aerodynamic design and optimization are a cornerstone of aviation science and engineering, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of aircrafts. By meticulously refining aerodynamic design, scientists and engineers can significantly enhance aviation performance, efficiency and safety, including reducing drag, increasing lift and optimizing fuel consumption, which leads to longer flight durations, cost savings and reduced environmental impact. Moreover, sophisticated aerodynamic designs improve aircraft stability and manoeuvrability, ensuring safer and more reliable flight. Therefore, the continuous exploration and optimization of aerodynamic designs are essential for the advancement and optimization of green aviation technologies.

Track 6: Green Airport Technologies and Operation绿色机场技术与运营

Green Airport Technologies and Operation Sub-Forum is an important forum focusing on exploring and promoting the green development of the airport. Its purpose is: green development, technology exchange, policy guidance, and promotion of cooperation. It is hoped that the negative impact of the airport on the environment will be reduced through green design, technological innovation, multi-party participation and other measures. Reduce the operating costs of airports and improve resource utilization efficiency through green technology and operation. Improve the image of the airport and enhance the public's recognition and support for the green development of the airport. Promote the green transformation of the entire civil aviation industry and provide models and experiences for other airports. In this forum, we will show the latest green technologies and products to industry insiders and share cases of successful green airports in China and over abroad. Industry leaders and experts are invited to have a dialogue to discuss the development trends and challenges of green airports, and provide opportunities for participants to establish business contacts and cooperation. Through this forum exchange, we will concentrate the wisdom of the industry, jointly promote the development of green airports, and achieve win-win environmental, economic and social benefits.

Track 7: eVTOLs电动垂直起降飞行器

Embark with us on a journey into the future of aviation at the 2nd International Green Aviation Development Forum, where the eVTOL Track, organized by the Electric-Aviation and Flying-Car committees of the CSAA, serves as a beacon for technological advancement. This track is a dedicated platform for unraveling the mysteries and potentials of eVTOL technology. Our scope is to cultivate a fertile ground for international and interdisciplinary collaboration, propelling the industry towards greener and more sustainable horizons. Please find the track agenda as below. 1) As urban air mobility becomes a cornerstone of future transportation networks, the significance of eVTOL technology cannot be overstated. The track is replete with insightful keynote speeches from esteemed luminaries hailing from prestigious institutions such as Tsinghua University, Beihang University, and Beijing Institute of Technology. These experts will share their visionary perspectives on the burgeoning field, providing a rich tapestry of knowledge and inspiration. 2) The Track also boasts cutting-edge presentations from leading eVTOL aircraft manufacturers like Autoflight, ZEROG, and INFLYNC. These industry giants will divulge the latest trends and breakthroughs from their research and development labs, offering a glimpse into the future of flight. 3) The roundtable discussion, featuring an array of eVTOL suppliers, including those specializing in batteries (Montavista), motors (Wolong), flight control systems (Boundary-AI and Zhefei Aviation), and drivetrain controller (G-EDRIVE), promises to be a melting pot of ideas. It is here where the crux of the industry's collaborative efforts will be forged, discussing and debating the path to a more sustainable aviation ecosystem.

A pivotal moment of the track will be the unveiling of the latest academic research and industrial products, a testament to the rapid evolution of eVTOL technology. This is where the theoretical meets the practical, and where the future of green aviation is shaped. Track 8: AI in Green Aviation Transformation 人工智能与绿色航空

The “AI in Green Aviation Transformation Forum”offers an in-depth look at how artificial intelligence is shaping the future of the green aviation industry. Hosted by Chinese Aeronautical Establishment, this track provides a unique platform for academic, industry leaders and talent young researchers to dive into the future of aviation through the lens of AI. Additionally, discussions will cover the impact of AI on organizational structures and decision-making processes, illustrating AI application in aviation.

The "AI in Green Aviation Transformation Forum” encompasses a variety of engaging lectures and presentations, which serves as a platform for exploring innovative applications of AI in aviation and fostering discussions on the path toward a greener industry.

This parallel track forum aims to inspire innovative thinking, foster collaboration, and promote more efficient and environmentally friendly AI adoption in aviation industry.

Track 9: Green MRO 绿色航空维修

In order to consolidate China's research capabilities in green maintenance, enhance academic exchanges in the field of green maintenance, and promote the high-quality and sustainable development of China's aircraft maintenance industry, the Green MRO Sub-forum will be held from November 6 to 8, 2024. This sub-forum will host discussions on hot and challenging topics related to green maintenance, including green maintenance theory and key technologies, green maintenance design, maintenance supervision and policy, green maintenance talent cultivation and technical support, as well as green maintenance practices. The Green Maintenance Sub-forum will conclude with a summary report of the green maintenance forum and the release of a proposal for suggestions and recommendations. The hosting organizations are Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CSAA) and International Association for Green Aviation (IAGA), the organizing unit is Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC), the executing units are Sichuan Province Engineering Technology Research Center of General Aircraft Maintenance, CSAA Technical Committee of General Aviation, and CSAA Technical Committee of Flight Technique.

Track 10: China-France Seminar on Aero-Power中法航空动力研讨会

The Science Center for Gas Turbine, also called SCGT, was established on July 30, 2018. As a national-level open-sharing platform, it aims at the major strategic needs of the country and basic and forward-looking research. Beihang University, Tsinghua University, the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Air Force Engineering University, Aero Engine Academy of China, China United Gas Turbine Technology co., LTD. jointly established the center.

SCGT has set up and implemented the Future Aeroengine &Turbine Innovation Project, abbreviated as FATIP, to explore the collaborative innovation mechanism of multi-unit joint construction and multidisciplinary basic research, cultivate leading talents and young technical backbones with international influence, and build an international cooperation platform. The FATIP covers multiple disciplinary fields including aerothermodynamics, structural strength, control &testing, materials &manufacturing, etc. Driven by the overall goal, the FATIP set up 152 projects, and currently has 21 major projects, 105 key projects, 23 international projects in progress. It has attracted more than 70 institutions and 3000 people worldwide to participate in research, covering 11 countries, including Germany, France, the UK, etc. It is significantly important for our platform construction to promote the deep cross-integration of multiple disciplines and carry out extensive international exchanges and cooperation.

SCGT organised the China-France Seminar on Aero-Power, focusing on New-generation trans-speed aero-engine, New-generation supersonic civil aircraft, and flexible and efficient gas turbine. The seminar has invited scholars from China and France involved in the FATIP to share their findings. We sincerely welcome everyone to participate in our seminar.
